Oreo & White Chocolate Cheesecake

Another simple and easy cheesecake to make. I love Cookies & Cream flavour ice-cream especially Haagen-Dazs and this taste just like it but a cheesecake version!

Serves 12
Ingredients
3 x 154g packet Oreo
Mini Oreos for decorating
75 grams unsalted butter (melted)
300 grams cream cheese (room temperature)
300 ml double cream (or whipping cream)
150 grams white chocolate
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon gelatine

  • Lightly grease a 8 or 9 inch springform cake tin or a mousse ring with butter.
  • Remove the filling of some of the Oreos until you get 200grams of just biscuits to use for the base. Discard the filling. Finely crush them and put them in a bowl. Add the melted butter and mixed till combined. Press mixture over base of the tin evenly. Refrigerate while you make the cheesecake mixture.
  • With the rest of the Oreos cut them up into small pieces.
  • Put the tablespoon of cold water in a small bowl and add in the teaspoon of gelatine and place the bowl in a small saucepan of simmering water till the gelatine dissolves.
  • Melt the chocolate over a bain-marie or double boiler.
  • In a large bowl whisk the cream cheese till smooth. Add in the gelatine and melted chocolate and mix till smooth and combined.
  • In a smaller bowl lightly whip the cream till it forms soft peaks (make sure not to oover whip) Then gently fold into the cream cheese mixture and mix till combined.
  • Stir in the pieces of Oreos then pour the mixture over the prepared biscuit base.
  • Spread the mixture evenly over the biscuit base with a palette knife until its smooth and even. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally over night.

Remove the cheesecake from the tin and cut into 12 pieces and place a Oreo on top of each slice.

Take the cheesecake out of the fridge and leave for 15-30 minutes before serving .

I would love to know how you all got on with the recipe. Enjoy! xx

  1. Thought i give this recipe a go after my darling daughter been constantly nagging me to make for her... Can't believe how good it tastes... So creamy & light!!! Recipe was easy to follow, one thing i found difficult was crushing the Oreo biscuits and chopping them up for the cheesecake mixture as its a much harder biscuit to crush compare to digestives. I think wiv abit more practice i could make it look as good as yours! haha ha, I would definitely recommend this recipe to anyone who hasn't tried it yet... its simply DELICIOUS!!! :-) Thank U for sharing another great recipe Little Cake House! ;-D xx

  2. Hey I really wanted to try this but seeing as I'm a vegetarian I don't want to use the gelatin. Do you think it'll make much of a difference? Thanks

    5. If you put icing sugar in it (maybe about 100 grams) should help hold the filling, it's what I haveused in cheesecake recipes before and they have been perfect :)

    1. Hi, sorry but i've not tried this with gelatine sheets before as the gelatine won't melt in the cold mixture so it is best to use powder. But in the future if you want to convert powder gelatine to sheets, I normally use two sheets of gelatine will equal one teaspoon of powder.

    2. Sorry, just because ive done this recipe a tonne of times and i know this works for anyone in the future, half a sheet normally holds it quite well so anything from half a sheet to 2 sheets.

  6. I love this recipe, made it so many times but can never get it as neat as yours! Any tips on how you get the perfect finish? Mine never ends up as smooth and cleanly cut as the one in your pics. Thanks for the recipe!

    1. Thanks for trying my recipe. I like to use a mousse ring to get the side extra smooth, use a angled palette knife to smooth out the top and to get a clean cut use a long sharp knife and wipe the knife clean after each cut before cutting the next slice :) xx

  10. I wonder if the cake meant to be without sugar?

    1. She added White Chocolate in the cream cheese mixture. Which is usually sweet. So no sugar required. But Im sure you can add more of caster sugar if needed. :D

    2. Yes no sugar is needed as the white chocolate and Oreos is already sweet enough :)

  16. I can't use gelatine but I really want to make this Would it make a difference without it. Also do you know where I can get agar agar from in the UK as I cannot find it anywhere! If I was to use agar agar, how much of it?

    1. Yes you can leave the gelatine out if you like. It will still hold, you will just have a softer cheesecake. I've seen agar agar in Asian supermarkets :)
